This is the second congress that India is representing and this time India will have voting rights for the election of new office bearers of IWBF.

First workshop on wheelchair basketball in Assam

Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India in partnership with Sports Authority of Assam and Shishu SAROTHI inaugurated first workshop on wheelchair basketball in Assam at Sarusajoi sports complex , Guwahati. Its a two day camp, 3 and 4 August 2018. Chief guest for the event was Mr. Lakhya Konwar, Member Secretary, SLACSW, Assam in the august presence of Mr. Vinod Seshan, IAS, Secretary Agriculture, Mrs. Kalyani Rajaraman, Secretary General, WBFI, Dr. Subhash Basumatary, Director, SAI, Regional Centre, Assam, Mr. Pabitra Ram Khound, ACS, Director of sports and youth welfare, Assam, Secretary SAA, Mr. Diganta Bujarbaruah, Secretary, Assam state branch, Indian Red Cross, Mr. Arman Ali, ED, Shishu Sarothi. 22 Male and 5 female players are participating. Mr. Lee Roy Simon and Mr. Krishnand are the coach. Mr. Bhaba Jyoti, running basketball coach is attending the camp.

2 Days Workshop on Wheelchair Basketball

WBFI organised 2 days workshop on wheelchair basketball at sector 78, multipurpose sports complex, Mohali , Punjab, June 5 and 6, 2018. Program went on very well. 22 participants, 20 men and 2 women attended. Shukla and Lathief did a good job as coach. Sh. Sanjay Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Sports and Youth Services, Smt. Amrit Kaur Gill, IAS, Director sports were the chief guests for the valedictory program. Secretary promised to extend all possible support like permission to use indoor BB stadium, purchase of wheelchairs.

Entries invited for 4th National Wheelchair Basketball Championship for Men and Women

State teams can send their application to compete in the 4th National wheelchair basketball championship for Men and Women.

Date – 5th to 9th November, 2017 (5 days)
Venue – KVBR Indoor BB stadium, Yousufgouda, Hyderabad, Telangana state.

Last day to send applications – 30th September 2017.
Applications to be sent by email to – wbfiindia@gmail.com / rajaraman.kalyani@gmail.com

Entry Fee – Rs. 5000/- per team.

Arrival time and Date – 4th November, 3 pm
Departure date and Time – 10th November, 10 am.

Please note that WBFI will provide dinner from 4th November to breakfast on 10th November, 2017.
WBFI will make arrangements to receive players and drop them back in station, provided teams come in maximum 2 batches and inform us by 30th september, 2017.
